There are several steps involved in packing and shipping a solar system, including:
What are the main components of a rooftop solar system?
A complete solar panel system, also known as a solar system, consists of four key components:
Solar panels: Panel-like structures with grids commonly found on roofs. It is the most important component responsible for converting solar energy into electricity.
Solar Inverter: An electrical device that converts direct current (DC) from a solar panel into alternating current (AC).
Solar cells: store energy generated by the sun and use it when the grid is out.
Module Mounting Bracket: It is a simple metal structure, usually made of galvanized iron. It holds the panels at specific angles, preventing them from being blown away by the wind.
In addition to the above components, a typical solar panel installation process requires the following accessories:
DC wires: PVC coated wires in two configurations: less than 3kW and 3kW and above cable tray.
AC Line: This connects the inverter to the grid and household electrical loads.
DCDB: It protects the panel from the DC side. It is a small solar protection device installed between the solar panel and the solar inverter.
ACDB: It deals with alternating current. It is a small solar device installed between the solar inverter and your home load.
MC4 Connector: Single-contact electrical connector, typically used to connect solar panels to each other.
Lightning Arrester (LA): This device protects solar panels and connected equipment from sudden electrical surges caused by lightning strikes. It is compatible with off-grid and grid-connected solar inverters.
Ground kit: 1 to 3 kW: done with two grounds. The first is for the inverter and the second is for LA (local ground). Above 3kW: fixed together by three ground rods. Here the extra one is for the photovoltaic module.
